TalkShop’s busy calendar this year has been mostly about corporate workshops earmarked for long-standing clients and new ones, among them United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB), which held the second run of Business Writing for Technical Managers on December 1 and 2, 2010.
Stella Fulgencio, the bank’s Assistant Vice President said, “After reviewing and evaluating the many offers, I knew TalkShop’s workshop design would make the best fit for our IT managers. As expected, there is technical jargon with its attendant superfluities and redundancies that need to be addressed, along with communication skills that need polishing.”
“UCPB employees’ pre-test results showed that participants were analytical, as expected. Thus, the program focused mainly on infusing creative writing and thinking into the activities.” Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO relayed.
The highlight of the workshop was the writing drills through which learnings found expression in essential business forms – letters, memos, emails, reports, and minutes of meetings. Grammar Mastery formed an essential part, while brainstorming allowed the participants free rein with ideas. Next in line for UCPB are TalkShop workshops for Presentation Mastery and Personality Development.
With creativity most sought after in today’s managers, corporations will find TalkShop’s communication workshops a useful tool in organization development that can only translate to an attractive bottomline.
